In the highly specialized industry of wireless/RF engineering, I have worked at leading companies such as Qualcomm, Marvell, Intel for almost 20 years. I have been part of highly talented teams who contributed to the innovations and deep engineering skill that goes into producing break-through technology in RF IC products. Yet I have often wondered about the gap between such cutting edge technology and it’s race to commoditization in the market place. My role at Spearix is to change that equation by championing our superstar engineers and pioneering customers on a fundamentally novel approach to wireless systems engineering. The goal is to promote technology that solves real problems with strong commercial viability. We are paving the way for high value and modern wireless applications of the future.

Kiran has 15+ years of experience in design and development of RF transceiver and power amplifier products for 2G/3G/4G cellular market. Kiran is a domain expert in high frequency EM modeling, advanced package/PCB design and high performance analog/RF circuit design on advanced semiconductor technology nodes. Kiran has held various senior design engineering positions at Silicon Labs and Avago and has a PhD in Electrical Engineering.

I dream of a day when terms like wireless control, fly-by-wireless and mission critical wireless systems become as common as their wired counterparts of today. At Spearix, I help a first rate team of experienced professionals do all things associated with transitioning our customers toward a new wireless future. My lessons gained at other startups and established industry leaders like Maxim Integrated, Xilinx, Silicon Labs, Micrel/Microchip and Abracon complement my EE degree and guide his approach to getting things done in this competitive industry. When I have free time I practice photography, sail and run the trail.

In the 17 years spent designing wireless protocols, I’ve always known a missing piece has been detaining wireless from reaching its full potential. I know Spearix RADiS(TM) technology is that missing piece. I’m excited to use my hands-on experience (gained at companies such as Nivis, Softing, BeamLogic) to guide the team in building the world’s most reliable wireless systems such as WirelessHART, ISA100.11a, ZigBee, Thread, 6TiSCH and a suite of other proprietary wireless protocols and MAKE THEM WORK. When I am not saving wireless, I like to play basketball, tennis and video games.

Farooq works closely with customers to drive new growth and value opportunities across the globe and supports field sales and support requests within India. In parallel he will be working with R&D to share inputs from the outside world. On the whole Farooq’s role is a bridge between R&D and customers. Farooq previously worked as Director of Sales and Customer Engineering and Manager of Applications Engineering for Wi2Wi, Inc., a publicly traded company on the Toronto Stock Exchange. He also served in other companies like REDPINE SIGNALS (acquired by SILICON LABS) and MRO-TEK. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering from JNTU, India and a master’s degree in Business Administration from Sikkim Manipal University, India.

My journey from Silicon to Cloud in wireless systems engineering spanning 14+ years has been enriching and exciting. Working alongside the brightest minds at General Electric and Redpine Signals (later acquired by Silicon Labs) has shaped my skill-set into a strong full stack embedded wireless systems engineer. I have also acquired software development capabilities that complement core wireless engineering. Wireless devices today outnumber the world population fuelled by rapid technology adoption, necessitating a need for re-engineering the building blocks of wireless devices. At Spearix, my focus is towards building devices that are self-adaptive while being energy efficient . In my free time, you can find me playing badminton, cooking or hiking. Learning to play the violin has been on my bucket list.
